Instructions

  1. Step 1

In a small bowl, mix all of the seasonings until well combined.

  2. Step 2

Pat your salmon filet dry then cover with melted butter before heavily applying the seasoning mix. Pat the seasoning into the salmon—it’s going to be a lot of seasoning, but at the same time, you may not use the whole amount (depending on your taste and size of fillet) so play it by ear

  3. Step 3

Heat a medium, heavy-bottomed pan over high-heat until it is smoking (you probably want to turn your fan on as well) and add some oil or butter if it is not non-stick.

  4. Step 4

Sear the flesh side down on the pan for 3 to 4 minutes until it is blackened. Try not to check it often so it can form the crust.

  5. Step 5

Once the crust has been formed, flip the salmon and continue to cook for 5 to 8 minutes until the skin is crispy and the salmon is cooked throughHow will you knowUse a food thermometer to checkThe thickest part of the salmon should be at least 145 degrees Fahrenheit (63 degrees Celsius) when fully cookedThe color should also change from translucent to opaque

  6. Step 6

Take the filet out of the pan and place on paper towels off to the side.

  7. Step 7

Toast your sandwich bread lightly in the same pan until golden brown.

  8. Step 8

Spread the mayo and add the lettuce and tomato to the sandwich bread, then place the salmon filet on top. Put your top bun on, and you’re ready to eat!!
